Things to do for Father’s Day in Cincinnati

Looking for something special to do on Father’s Day in Cincinnati?  Here are a few ideas for some great local fun… some are free for the entire family and some are free for Dad. All events are for 2018 Father’s Day in Cincinnati, Ohio.  And Father’s Day is June 17, 2018 by the way. 🙂

Enjoy the Cincinnati Zoo – Dads get in free on Father’s Day.

BB Riverboats is offering a Father’s Day Cruises on June 18, take a brunch cruise from 1 to 3pm or a dinner cruise from 5:30 to 7:30pm

And for the goetta lovin’ Dad, how about a visit to Goettafest at Mainstrasse Village?

Pack up the kids and enjoy an afternoon at the Taft Museum of Art for their “3rd Sunday Fundays” (1-4pm). Meet the dads of the Taft collection, test your puzzle-solving skills at the Art Cart, and work with your dad (or other special adult) on a project to take home. Enjoy Sunrock Farm’s petting zoo from 1 to 2 p.m. Get into a party mood with a dance demonstration and workshop with Elementz, 2–3 p.m. FREE. No reservations required.

A Fatherhood Community Celebration will be held at Sawyer Point, 11am – 4pm. Each Father’s Day, Talbert House hosts this FREE event for dads and families to enjoy a day of games and entertainment, arts and crafts, food and beverages, live music, sports activities, and more.  Talbert House is one of the city’s leading advocates for promoting fatherhood.  The Talbert House Fatherhood Project is funded in part by the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and assists men in their efforts to become responsible, committed, and nurturing fathers for their children.

Enjoy a night out at Washington Park with their OTR Performs Series, an evening of FREE arts programming in the Park that is sure to please the whole family.

  1. For this year’s post, every Father’s Day there is the Wrangler Run for the Active Dad! Awards are provided for the top Dad/Daughter finisher and Dad/ Son finisher. This race benefits a family who lost their Dad to a brain aneurysm a few years ago.

  2. How about the Star Wars Costume Exhibit at the Museum Center? They are even offering Reds packages and discounts!

  3. Maslow’s Army and LaRosa’s are teaming up on Fountain Square today at 5:00pm to provide free pizza dinners to help fight hunger. This is a free family friendly event. All are in couraged to attend. We will be passing out new and gently used clothes, new under garments, socks, bed rolls, and more. The first 30 volunteers will receive free Chipotle!!
