Shake off those winter doldrums and get outside to experience the Cherry Blossoms in Cincinnati!
It’s one of my favorite things to do as spring emerges – visiting all the cherry trees in bloom all around town. This yearly tradition is my sign to herald in spring, get outside for a walk, and admire the beauty of our city parks.
The cherry blooms typically make their debut in the Cincinnati area anytime from mid-March to the mid-April, depending on the weather. They don’t stick around long so be sure to make your plans when you start to see announcements about blooms.

Enjoy the Spring Blooms at Ault Park
If I had to choose just one place to see the cherry trees in bloom in Cincinnati, Ault Park would be my choice. It’s a wonderful place to visit, no matter the season. But if you visit during the peak of spring cherry blossom season, you’re in for a real treat.
You’ll be greeted by the cherry trees that line the drive as you pull in. As you enter the park you’ll see the Japanese Cherry blossom tree grove on the left, just before you hit the circle.
In addition to the cherry grove, the park has a public garden area that is lined with magnolias and dogwood trees. Spring is a wonderful time at Ault Park so be sure to explore the grounds while you’re there! Read more about Ault Park here.

Weeping Cherry Trees at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum
Another spot that I can recommend visiting, no matter the season, is Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum. Yes, a cemetery makes my favorites list. This is no ordinary cemetery and you’ll realize that as soon as you pull in. It’s part cemetery, part arboretum, and totally beautiful… especially in the spring.
If you go during the day, be sure to stop into the offices, located on your right as you pull in, to grab a map (or pull one up on your phone at this link).
The weeping cherry trees at Spring Grove Cemetery line the road and create a canopy-like covering when they’re in full bloom. The trees can be found just past the Soldier’s Monument and the lakes.

Eden Park in Bloom
Cincinnati certainly has its share of beautiful parks and Eden Park is another one of my favorites – especially when it comes to spring blooms. The cherry blossoms in Eden Park will stop you in your tracks. Admire their pink and white blooms, the perfect spring adornment, as you take in the view of the Ohio River. While you’re in the area, you should also make a stop to admire the blooms at the park area next to the Krohn Conservatory.
After visiting Eden Park, stop by The Krohn Conservatory for the annual Butterfly Show and/or make a stop at the Cincinnati Art Museum. Both venues are located in Eden Park.

Enjoy the Riverfront with Blooms at Sawyer Point
Take a walk along the Ohio River with a visit to Sawyer Point. This park has a number of cherry trees that can be found in the grassy areas close to the Serpentine Wall.
