You won’t have to travel far in order to find some unique weekend getaways near Cincinnati!
After writing about the new Cannaley Treehouse Village in Toledo and the Covered Wagon rentals in Kentucky, I started to wonder if there were more “unique” spots within driving distance of Cincinnati.
And, WOW, did I uncover some great places for weekend getaways near Cincinnati! From staying the night in a shipping container to vintage RV’s to tiny cabins on the river…. I looked through the options at Airbnb (and a few other lodging spots) and found some really fun places to try.
Weekend Getaways Near Cincinnati:
Buffalo Springs Distilling Company
Location and Approx. Distance from Cincinnati: Stamping Ground, KY; 100 miles away
Highlights from the Owners*: On the Bourbon Trail. The Buffalo Springs Distilling Company got it’s start in 1868. It closed and it’s warehouses were emptied out by the 1970’s. This building is one of the last structures left on the site. This historic building was the main office and gatehouse for visitors to the distillery, so we can offer one bedroom due to the size of the structure. Bourbon History buffs will love the opportunity to stay overnight in an old distillery building. This lodging has a large main room, fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with a Queen bed, bathroom, and laundry area. There’s a City Park almost adjacent to the rear of the property and a family restaurant, stores, bank, post office, gasoline, and Police Station within walking distance.

This is a great article. I am always looking for interesting places to get away to from Cincinnati. We have lived in Alberta, Minnesota, Connected and North Carolina and explored all of those regions, but have lived in Cincinnati now for 14 years and every one of the places on this list could be a new adventure. You should check out the Murphin Ridge Inn in West Union, OH. It is a hidden treasure! It is one of our favorite getaway spots within an hour of Cincinnati. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
