Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail

Little Miami Golf Center* offers access to the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail (one of the longest, multi-use paved trails in the United States) at the Avoca Trailhead or the Bass Island Trailhead. Both trailheads have parking space. Avoca Trailhead has bathrooms and water fountains (seasonal). Stick around and enjoy golf, lawn bowling, FootGolf, and paddling too.

Cincinnati Bike Trails – Loveland Bike Trail

Loveland Bike Trail

Affectionately called the “Loveland Bike Trail”, it is the start of 70 miles of trail with connections to well over 100 miles. Free parking, picnic tables, rest rooms, easy access, coffee, ice cream shops, restaurants and entertainment have made Loveland, Milford, Newtown, Miami Township & Lebanon excellent staging areas.

Otto Armleder / Trail Connector

Otto Armleder Memorial Park & Recreation Complex

Otto Armleder Memorial Park is one of my personal favorites. This park features a new 1.0-mile paved trail that connects the park’s existing 1.9-mile trail to the 5-mile Lunken Airfield loop, as well as a playground, reservable soccer fields, river outlook and canoe access to the Little Miami River.

Distance: Otto Armleder Park’s trail is 1.9 miles and the Lunken connector is 1.0 mile. Both trails are paved and shared use

Woodland Mound

Woodland Mound* is home to a 1.2 mile shared use biking trail. You can also enjoy a 0.9-mile Parcours trail and the 0.6-mile Hedgeapple and 0.8-mile Seasongood nature trails.

Lunken Airport Bike Trail

Lunken Airport offers great biking trails as well as playgrounds, tennis courts, a golf course, and a spot to watch the planes come and go. Read more about Lunken Airport here.

Fernbank Park

Fernbank Park*  This park sits right along the Ohio River and also includes a playground space.

Green Township Bike and Walk Trail

The Green Township Bike and Walk Trail is a short 1 mile “out and back”. This one is an easy ride as the trail is flat and paved. The trailhead (and parking) can be found off Hutchinson Road. There’s some hints of this being tied to Veteran’s Park in the future but it’s just a straight 1 mile path at this time.

Miami Whitewater Forest

Miami Whitewater Forest* is the largest park in the Great Parks of Hamilton County family. In addition to the bike trail, this park also has miles of hiking trails, horseback riding, a dog park, shelters, picnic areas, a 9-hole golf course, a campground, lake activities, a snack bar, playgrounds, disc golf, and much more.

Sharon Woods

Sharon Woods* features a visitor center with exhibits, an accessible two-story indoor play area for children ages 2-12, 2.6-mile paved multi-purpose trail around the lake, a 1.0-mile Parcours trail and the 0.7-mile Gorge nature trail. You can enjoy water/lake activities, a snack bar, playgrounds, creeking, and much more.

Francis RecreAcres

Francis RecreAcres* has soccer fields and volleyball courts (for organized play only, permit needed), a snack bar, and a 1.0-mile paved trail. A universally accessible playground features wide ramps, rubber safety surface and physical fitness elements.

Winton Woods

Winton Woods* offers numerous hiking trails, horseback riding, picnic shelters, picnic areas, a campground, water/lake activities, a snack bar, playgrounds, and much more. Close by (and also part of Winton Woods) you’ll find Parky’s Farm, The Mill Golf Course, and Meadow Links Golf Course. Also close by is a disc golf course.

Theodore Berry International Friendship Park

Theodore Berry Park sits right along the banks of the Ohio River.  Pedal past displays of sculpture and flora representing five continents. There is a free parking lot but spots are limited.

Theodore Berry Park

Smale Riverfront Park

Smale Riverfront Park is a great place to spend the day. The trail portion of this park is part of the Ohio River Trail. The trail will take you all along the Ohio River and you can ride east to Theodore Berry Park (mentioned above). Plan a day to enjoy the day at Smale Park with swings overlooking the Ohio River, water play areas for the kids, giant chess board, a playground, lots of open grassy areas, Carol Ann’s Carousel, see a portion of the Berlin Wall, and so much more.

Mountain Bike Trails

Mitchell Memorial Forest

Mitchell Memorial Forest* offers over eight miles of challenging mountain bike trail. The mountain bike trails were designed per International Mountain Biking Association standards and includes moderate to steep terrain, several technical features and some sections of more difficult trail. Trail A is an intermediate trail that is approximately 3.9 miles in length with moderate to steep terrain and some technical features. Trail B is an advanced trail that is approximately 4.2 miles in length with moderate to steep terrain, several technical features and some sections of more difficult trail.

Devou Park

Devou Park Backcountry Trails has over 8 miles of  trails for biking and hiking. The secluded trails are part of over 700 acres in this Northern Ky park.
Devou Parks trails are suited for novices and experienced riders alike.  For novices there are usually ride arounds for the obstacles. Come often and increase your skills. Trails are monitored daily for safety and you can find updated trail conditions.  Find the Devou Park map here.

East Fork State Park

East Fork State Park is one of Ohio’s largest parks and offers multiple activity possibilities including boating, camping, hiking, swimming (lake), and more.
East Fork’s bike trails are for Mountain Biking. The trail system has over 12 miles of traveling a mixture of flat, smooth stretches, twisting turns through wooded areas winds through steep hills, switchbacks, and ridges overlooking East Fork Lake. Harbin Park

Harbin Park has three mountain bike trails. The Blue Trail is about 3/4 miles long and includes elevation changes and man-made bridges to cross creeks on bike. It is the easiest of their trails and is great for beginners. The Green Trail is 0.82 miles and has a large elevation change and tight turns around trees. The third trail is The Orange Trail which is much longer – 4.3 miles. It includes lots of elevation changes, tight turns, man made bridges and obstacles. It is the most difficult of their trails.   2. Devou is listed … but England-Idlewild Trails and a few other CORA are missing. Maybe didn’t fit definition of “best” or not part of the Greater Parks system?
