It’s Day 111 of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we’re out discovering French Park. Another one of the wonderful Cincinnati Park System parks, this little gem is located in Amberly Village at the intersection of Ridge and Section Roads.
This is a rather small park in comparison to some of the other Cincinnati Parks parks. French Park covers 275 acres. It’s a very quiet and peaceful park. The park has miles of trails, creeks, and is a great place to hunt for fossils. I can imagine that you could go for a walk on one of their trails and never see another soul. And sometimes that’s a good thing :).
French Park is made up of a number of rolling fields and is surrounded by forest. They have a number of picnic tables spread out across the fields, a volleyball net, and a swing set. There is an abundance of clear field area where you could play a great game of baseball, throw Frisbee or kick a soccer ball around. They also have a few charcoal grills available.
French Park also has “the French House” on site. Built in 1805, the house is now used for rentals (weddings and art events and such).
They also offer the grounds for weddings. Just look at the beautiful scenery surrounding the wedding they were setting up for while we were there…
If you’re planning an outdoor wedding you need to take a serous look at French Park. It’s gorgeous! These pictures were taken right next to the house. The terraced outdoor areas are surrounded by beautiful flower gardens too (how did I manage to miss that?!).
If you’re looking for a nice quiet place for a picnic or to just get out for a nice walk with the dog, give French Park a try.
French Park is located at 3012 Section Road
I would like to have my wedding here
Hi Brooklyn – just wanted to be sure you realize you left your comment on our blog, which is not the Hamilton County Park’s site. You’d need to contact them directly for more info on booking an event.
