It’s a Cincinnati tradition! The UC Health Ice Rink at Fountain Square is now open for the season!
Head downtown to experience some fun on the ice. Open through February 17, 2025, the rink takes over the square, fountain to 5th Street to the holiday tree… and the entire rink is open for ice skating this year!
The ice rink is open seven days a week (and is open on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, weather permitting). Hours and times can be found here.
Open skate is $10 and that includes your skate rental. Reservations are not needed. Simply walk right up to the rink and purchase your admission (credit card only).
They’ll have fun events all season long including:
- Downtown Dazzle (Santa, firework, and more!)
- Movie Mornings (watch a holiday-themed movie on the big screen as you skate)
- Crafts at the Rink
- College Night
- Give Back Skate
Coming with the family? Kids 3 and under are free with a paid adult admission. Push along aids are available for new little skaters AND parents can walk on the ice with traction aids on their shoes (available at the rink). Rental skates are available in youth sizes 8-4 and they also have Dual Blade Adjustable Skates for kids (strap onto sneakers). All children under 55 inches must be accompanied by an adult while on the ice.
There’s a concession stand on-site, serving up hot and cold beverages and hot and cold snacks. The Fountain Square bar also serves hot and cold beverages including beer, seltzers, liquor, Coke products, and more.
You can hang out for a bit and take the chill off in the rink’s warming tent. The tent has tables and chairs and HEAT!
Wondering where to park? There’s convenient parking right under the rink at the Fountain Square Parking Garage. More parking is available right around the corner (find a great spot to park with this list).
Want to explore the Fountain District? There are lots of restaurants all around the block if you’d like to enjoy a meal (find a great spot with this list). If sweets are what you’re after, try Graeter’s Ice Cream on the Square or Abby Girl cupcakes which is just down the street (5th Street, adjacent to the lobby of the beautiful Hilton Netherland).
