September in Cincinnati – get ready to spend some time outside and enjoy some end of summer, beginning of fall events and activities. This is THE month for Oktoberfest celebrations, Labor Day fireworks, and so much more!

Enjoy this month long list of Things to Do in Cincinnati for the month of September:

September 1-3: Liberty Home Association’s Oktoberfest is happening in Hamilton. Head over to our Oktoberfest list for the details.

September 2-3: Head to Lunken Airport for their Airport Days. Lunken Airport Days celebrates all things vintage aircraft and classic cars. You can see historic aircraft and vintage vehicles on display. They’ll have music, dancing, helicopter rides (fee involved) and more. The B-29 Doc History Restored Tour will be on site from August 31-Sept. 4 (get details on that here). Admission to Lunken Airport Days and parking are free.

September 2: Westside Market (showcasing over 100 local vendors, food trucks and offers family fun activities) will be at Westwood Town Hall, 10am-3pm.

September 2: It’s Old Timers’ Day at Rabbit Hash, noon-10pm. Enjoy lots of live music, craft vendors, and more. The event says “please carpool and no coolers”.

September 2: Art on Vine will be at the Court Street Plaza, 12-6pm.

September 3: The WEBN Fireworks will light up the sky. Watch for updates here.

September 4: Stricker’s Grove will hold their annual Labor Day Picnic. Admission includes all rides, roller coasters, mini golf, and free soft drinks. Park hours are noon to 8pm. Rides are open starting at 1pm and are closed for one hour at dinner time (between 4 and 5pm).

September 6-10: The Court Street Pop-Up Outdoor Roller Rink is back for the holiday weekend!

September 7-10: The Harvest Home Fair returns for 2023. It all starts with a parade on Sept. 7, 6pm. Enjoy food, rides, an Artisan Market, Flower Show, an Art Show, and much more. Thursday admission is free, admission charged for the rest of the Fair.

September 8-9: The Westwood Oktoberfest is happening at West Side Brewing. They’ll kick off the event with a live concert on Friday night from Die Bubis, an authentic 12-person band from Bavaria, Germany. Die Bubis will play a variety of genres from 7pm – 10pm that will surely have you dancing. Oktoberfest, Hefeweizen, Helles, Smoked Oktoberfest, and Festbier will be released leading up to the event. Special German menu items from Ivory House, Nation Westwood, and W Bar Bistro will transport you to Germany.

September 8-10: Vinoklet hosts their popular Art & Wine Festival. Enjoy multiple vendors, wine, beer, food, and live music. Admission and parking are free.

September 8-11: It’s First Responders Days at the Cincinnati Zoo. The Zoo will be honoring all those who protect our community by offering free admission to all active fire, police and safety personnel from Sept. 8-11, 2023. Personnel who qualify for free admission include firefighters, EMTs, uniformed police officers, state troopers, border patrol agents, investigators, evidence technicians, firearms examiners, crime lab technicians, 911 dispatchers, correction officers, handwriting examiners, intelligence analysts, investigative assistants and all members of the military (active and retired). The offer also allows fire and police personnel to purchase admission tickets at 50% off for up to six family members. See their site (link above) for ID requirements.

September 9-10: The Princess Bride – Film with Live Orchestra will be at Music Hall. The event feaures the classic movie along with live music from the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Tickets required.

September 9: Cincinnati Observatory hosts an annual Telescope Festival: ScopeOut 2023 from 6 to 10pm. Dozens of astronomers will set up their telescopes and share their knowledge, passion, and expertise between 6-8 pm. From 8-10 pm they will share views through their own telescopes (weather permitting). Great for beginners and longtime stargazers alike. Bring your own telescope and get advice from experts. Tickets required and it’s likely to sell out so don’t delay!

September 9: Head to MadTree Brewing for Zieglerfest, noon-5pm. Enjoy live music , steins, and German-themed foods from Catch-a-Fire Pizza for this event featuring MadTree’s Oktoberfest lager, Ziegler.

September 9: The O.F.F. Market will be at Summit Park, 10am-4pm. The O.F.F. Market is a monthly marketplace that brings together small businesses, artisans, brewers, bakers, farmers and the like to provide a unique shopping experience that supports strong community connections and strives to grow a hearty local economy.

September 9: It’s time for another Hamilton Flea, happening at Marcum Park, 10am-4pm. Spend a day in beautiful downtown Hamilton exploring all the new restaurants, shops, and bars while checking out the premiere, curated urban flea market experience in the area!

September 9: The Westwood Art Show and Wine Festival is happening at the Westwood Town Hall business district, 12-7pm. You’ll find more than 50 unique vendors on the grounds along with food, drink, activities for all ages, and more.

September 9: Bellevue Park hosts the Art in the Park, 10am – 5pm. Art in the Park is a fine Arts and Craft show featuring the areas best artists all in one beautiful place. You can also enjoy the live music, local food, beer, wine and activities for the kids.

September 9: Fall Finds on the Farm Craft Show is happening at Niederman Family Farm, 9am-3pm.

September 9: The HighGrain Village Oktoberfest Party is happening in Silverton, 11am-11pm. They’ll have Oktoberfest games, live music, beer specials and family fun.

September 9-10: Head to Butler County Regional Airport to see the 62nd Flying Circus Model Airshow, 11:30am-3:30pm. The event will feature over 200 model aircraft of all kinds from helicopters to jets including many historical reenactments! At the show they will demonstrate all of their various forms of R/C modeling in ways that challenge their pilots and provide entertainment for the spectators. Admission charged.

September 10: It’s that time of year! Pawpaw Hunting at Long Branch Farm and Trails (part of the Cincinnati Nature Center) will be happening on Sept. 10, 17, and 22. With this hunt, you’ll explore the history, science, and lore of the “Ohio Banana.” Preregistration required. Ticket includes daily admission to the CNC.

September 10: Taft Museum of Art is hosting a Family Fun Day / Oktoberfest, 10am-4pm. Experience German culture through singing, dancing, food, and artmaking with a free day at the museum. Plus enjoy a special performance by the Cincy German Band (Vereins Musikanten). This is a free event. Registration is not required but encouraged.

September 10: It’s British Car Day – a classic car show that features 32+ classes of British and European cars.

September 10: The Oscar Meyer Frankmobile will be just one of the cool vehicles at the Touch a Truck in Erlanger, Ky, 2-4pm. It will be held at the Erlanger Library parking lot.

September 10: Browse a variety of produce and handcrafted goods from local vendors at the Mayerson JCC Annual Fall Market. Dozens of vendors will be selling everything from honey and pottery to jewelry and delicious food. 10am-2pm.

September 16-17: The Benton Farm Fall Craft Show is happening at the farm, 9am-4pm. They’ll have 125+ vendors plus food trucks and live music. The Ag Barn will be open so you can see the animals (including baby goats). Admission charged.

September 16: The City Flea will be at Washington Park, 10am-4pm

September 17: The Deerfield Handmade Market Fall will be at the Snyder House / Cottell Park from 11am to 5pm. Shop from more than 100 local and regional artists, makers, and creators. Enjoy live music as well as food trucks, children’s art activities, and more. Event is free to the public and no charge for parking.

September 21: It’s time for the Ault Park Summer Music Festival, 6-10pm. Join in for fantastic live music from the Michelle Robinson Band. Admission is FREE. Local favorite food, craft beer/wine/hard seltzer and water will be available for purchase. Kids’ entertainment will be provided by Cincinnati Circus and Beech Acres from 6-8pm.

September 22-23: The Whispering Beard Folk Fest is happening at Carriage House Farm in North Bend, Ohio. They’ll have 20 bands. Camping is available. Tickets required.

September 23-24: Cincinnati Nature Center is offering free admission this weekend as part of the Great Outdoor Weekend.

September 23-24: It’s time for Art Fair at Pyramid Hill, a juried show that brings together more than 100 artists to sell their handmade creations throughout the weekend. The artists’ booths are set amongst the monumental modern and contemporary sculptures that dot their gorgeous grounds. The Art Fair also features live music, family-friendly activities and food.

September 23: United Pet Fund’s Paws in the Park is happening at Summit Park, 11am-3pm. This dog focused event for your furry friends will include lure chasing, Frisbee demos, agility courses and a costume parade. We humans can shop an variety of vendors, fill up at the food truck station, and more!

September 23: Art Affaire 2023 will blanket the streets of downtown Milford.

September 29-October 1: Cincinnati Donauschwaben’s Oktoberfest is happening! Get all the details over on our Oktoberfest list.

September 30: There’s a Maker’s Mart happening at Brink Brewing Co., 12-6pm. Enjoy local crafts, live music, and fresh beer!

September 30: The Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub hosts Hub-toberfest, noon to 6pm. The day includes include Hub tours, vendors, live music, food and drinks, a silent auction, and a raffle. This is a free event, however, they do suggest a $5 donation upon entrance. 

September 30: The Clermont County Farm Tour goes all weekend (Sat. and Sunday). The weekend includes the opportunity to visit 7 farms. Saturday’s tour options include Fox Tail Farm (vegetables and edible flowers, hoop houses), D&L Meadows (dairy goats and sheep), The Alpaca Shop in New Richmond, and Happbee Acres Bee Supply.
