September in Cincinnati – get ready to spend some time outside and enjoy some end of summer, beginning of fall events and activities. This is THE month for Oktoberfest celebrations, Labor Day fireworks, and so much more!

Enjoy this month long list of Things to Do in Cincinnati for the month of September:

September 1: Liberty Home Association’s Oktoberfest is happening in Hamilton. Head over to our Oktoberfest list for the details.

September 1: Head to Lunken Airport for their Airport Days. Lunken Airport Days celebrates all things vintage aircraft and classic cars. You can see historic aircraft and vintage vehicles on display. They’ll have music, dancing, helicopter rides (fee involved) and more. Admission to Lunken Airport Days and parking are free.

September 1: The WEBN Fireworks will light up the sky. See the FAQ’s and get more info here.

September 2: Stricker’s Grove will hold their annual Labor Day Picnic. Admission includes all rides, roller coasters, mini golf, and free soft drinks. Park hours are noon to 8pm. Rides are open starting at 1pm and are closed for one hour at dinner time (between 4 and 5pm).

September 5-8: The Harvest Home Fair returns for 2024. It all starts with a parade on Sept. 5, 6pm. Enjoy food, rides, an Artisan Market, Flower Show, an Art Show, and much more. Thursday admission is free, admission charged for the rest of the Fair.

September 6-8: Vinoklet hosts their popular Art & Wine Festival. Enjoy multiple vendors, wine, beer, food, and live music. Admission and parking are free.

September 6-9: It’s First Responders Days at the Cincinnati Zoo. The Zoo will be honoring all those who protect our community by offering free admission to all active fire, police and safety personnel from Sept. 6-9, 2024. Personnel who qualify for free admission include firefighters, EMTs, uniformed police officers, state troopers, border patrol agents, investigators, evidence technicians, firearms examiners, crime lab technicians, 911 dispatchers, correction officers, handwriting examiners, intelligence analysts, investigative assistants and all members of the military (active and retired). The offer also allows fire and police personnel to purchase admission tickets at 50% off for up to six family members. See their site (link above) for ID requirements.

September 7: Westside Market (showcasing over 100 local vendors, food trucks and offers family fun activities) will be at Westwood Town Hall, 10am-3pm.

September 7: Cincinnati Observatory hosts an annual Telescope Festival: ScopeOut 2024 from 6 to 10pm. Dozens of astronomers will set up their telescopes and share their knowledge, passion, and expertise between 6-8 pm. From 8-10 pm they will share views through their own telescopes (weather permitting). Great for beginners and longtime stargazers alike. Bring your own telescope and get advice from experts. Tickets required and it’s likely to sell out so don’t delay!

September 7: Fall Finds on the Farm Craft Show is happening at Niederman Family Farm, 9am-3pm.

September 8: Art on Vine will be at Washington Park, 12-6pm.

September 13-14: The Whispering Beard Folk Fest is happening at Carriage House Farm in North Bend, Ohio. They’ll have 20 bands. Camping is available. Tickets required.

September 13-15: Newport Oktoberfest is happening at the Newport Riverfront. Get all the details over on our Oktoberfest list.

September 14: Head to MadTree Brewing for Zieglerfest, noon-4pm. Enjoy stein holding competitions, live music from an authentic German band, games, prizes and Ziegler, their award-winning Oktoberfest beer!

September 14: The O.F.F. Market will be at Summit Park, 10am-4pm. The O.F.F. Market is a monthly marketplace that brings together small businesses, artisans, brewers, bakers, farmers and the like to provide a unique shopping experience that supports strong community connections and strives to grow a hearty local economy.

September 14: It’s time for another Hamilton Flea, happening at Marcum Park, 10am-4pm. Spend a day in beautiful downtown Hamilton exploring all the new restaurants, shops, and bars while checking out the premiere, curated urban flea market experience in the area!

September 14: The Westwood Art Show and Wine Festival is happening at the Westwood Town Hall business district, 12-7pm. You’ll find more than 50 unique vendors on the grounds along with food, drink, activities for all ages, and more.

September 14: Bellevue Park hosts the Art in the Park, 10am – 5pm. Art in the Park is a fine Arts and Craft show featuring the areas best artists all in one beautiful place. You can also enjoy the live music, local food, beer, wine and activities for the kids.

September 14: The HighGrain Village Oktoberfest Party is happening in Silverton, 11am-10pm. They’ll have Oktoberfest games, live music, beer specials and family fun.

September 15: It’s British Car Day – a classic car show that features 32+ classes of British and European cars.

September 19: It’s time for the Ault Park Summer Music Festival, 6-10pm. Join in for fantastic live music from The Foles Band. Admission is FREE. Local favorite food, craft beer/wine/hard seltzer and water will be available for purchase.  They will be providing inflatables and games, and volunteer organizations will have kids’ crafts and activities from 6-8pm. Astronomer Dean Regas and his colleagues will also set up telescopes for you to view the Moon and stars after dark (weather permitting).

September 19-22: Cincinnati Oktoberfest is happening at a new spot this year – Sawyer Point! Among LOTS of other things, enjoy fun events like the Running of the Wieners, the Gemütlichkeit Games, the World’s Largest Chicken Dance, and the Sam Adams Stein Hoist Competition. September 21-22: The Benton Farm Fall Craft Show is happening at the farm, 9am-4pm. They’ll have 125+ vendors plus food trucks and live music. Admission charged.

September 21: The City Flea will be at Washington Park, 10am-4pm

September 28-29: It’s time for Art Fair at Pyramid Hill, a juried show that brings together more than 100 artists to sell their handmade creations throughout the weekend. The artists’ booths are set amongst the monumental modern and contemporary sculptures that dot their gorgeous grounds. The Art Fair also features live music, family-friendly activities and food.

September 28: United Pet Fund’s Paws in the Park is happening at Summit Park, 11am-3pm. This dog focused event for your furry friends will include lure chasing, Frisbee demos, agility courses and a costume contest. We humans can shop an variety of vendors, fill up at the food truck station, and more!

September 28: Art Affaire 2024 will blanket the streets of downtown Milford.

September 28: There’s a Maker’s Mart happening at Brink Brewing Co., 12-6pm. Enjoy local crafts, live music, and fresh beer!
