I don’t know why it’s taken me so very long to write this post. The World Choir Games have, sadly, come and gone. Somehow I just haven’t been able to sit down and process it all. I think I’m having withdrawal!
Serious withdrawal. But this post has to be made. You see, my World Choir Games addiction resulted in 2000+ pictures and HOURS of video taken.
The lack of posts was definitely not due to lack of content! I think it’s been due to a feeling of disbelief. I can’t believe it’s over. I can’t believe all these fun people have returned home to Shanghai and Bangkok and Venezuela.
I can’t believe how AMAZING our city looked and how happy the visitors were to be here. I enjoyed every single minute of those glorious days!
I enjoyed days upon days of just walking around downtown, following groups just to see where they’d end up in hopes of stumbling on an impromptu performance.
I enjoyed days of free Friendship Concerts and especially loved sitting at Fountain Square where we all got to see the world on our doorstep.
I enjoyed getting to see many competitions. I enjoyed being “wowed” over and over by the gift of song.
I’m literally tearing up as I write this, still sad that it’s over. I am sincerely thankful for all of the people involved in making this happen for all of us.
And I selfishly hope that we all get to see an event similar to this in Cincinnati again. It was truly one of the most amazing few weeks of my life.
I love seeing your photos of this event!
Thank you, Chris. It was a lot of fun to run around like a crazy camera man 🙂
