Today is Day 103 of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we head south to visit Totter’s Otterville, an indoor-outdoor playland for children.
This little gem of a kiddy wonderland is hidden in Northern Kentucky. I will admit right up front that I almost turned around to come home as I was driving down there. You see, it’s not immediately over the river… it’s actually about 10 minutes into Kentucky. BUT keep reading and you’ll see that it is well worth the drive.
This place makes you wish you were a kid! They have everything you can think of to make a child happy. There’s a face painting station for the young make up artists (as seen above). Right next to that is an entire room dedicated to art projects where your child can put on an apron and paint his/her day away.
For the aspiring vet they have an Animal Hospital, complete with live animals (behind the glass).
And right next to that is a great waterway section where the kids can put on “rain gear” and play in the water. Moms and Dads can sit right there on stools to observe as well.
They have a ball pit area (top pic in the background) and a huge area with all the building blocks a child can imagine.
They even have a padded room for the wee ones….
They have room after room of indoor play areas to explore… I’ll leave some things to surprise you when you get there!
Head outside for even more fun. They have a great maze area as well as a full sized fire truck. You can take a ride on the trolley….
or play in the sand pit….
Or even go fishing. And don’t worry – it’s plastic fish with magnets attached -no hooks to be found.
Totter’s Otterville is located at 4314 Boron Dr. in Covington, KY
