It’s Day 362 of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we’re featuring Schneider’s Sweet Shop.
We stumbled upon this awesome candy and ice cream shop when we were exploring Bellevue Beach Park. Located amongst many other wonderful little shops in Bellevue, this place offers a sweet walk back in time.
When you walk into Schneider’s Sweet Shop you’ll feel like you’re walking into an old ice cream shop… and that’s because you are. Schneider’s Sweet Shop has been a Bellevue staple since 1939. The business was started by Robert Schneider. Robert continued to work in the Sweet Shop until he retired (1986) at which time his son Jack took over. Jack and his wife Kathy have continued to make all their candy with the same recipes, equipment and methods that Robert Schneider had always used.
Schneider’s offers an amazing selection of candies which are made right at that location. They also have a variety of frozen treats like ice cream and their famous “Ice Balls”, a snow cone with ice cream inside. And they have shelves of old fashioned candy by the pound as well.
They have table space inside where you can sit to enjoy your confections or you can sit outside on the benches that line the front of the store.
You can actually make an entire day out of this visit. Schneider’s Sweet Shop is just a block up from Bellevue Beach Park. There are numerous shops and eateries close by as well. And it’s on the same street as The Party Source and it’s a straight shot up the road to Newport on the Levee.
