It’s a Free Fridays day at the Cincinnati Museum Center on Friday, September 9 from 4-8pm. Enjoy free admission (after 4pm) to the Museum of Natural History & Science, Cincinnati History Museum and Duke Energy Children’s Museum.

Celebrate Cincinnati’s long and proud tradition of brewing beer when you head down to Fountain Square for Cincinnati Beerfest. Cincinnati Beerfest brings local distributors and brewers together in one place for a beer tasting and sampling event. Admission is free and 3oz. beer samples are just a buck or two each. Live music, food and beer PLUS you can watch the Bengals game on the big screen on Sunday. The fun happens on Fountain Square this weekend: Friday 5-10pm, Saturday noon-10pm, and Sunday noon-8pm. Enjoy a day of fun in Bellevue, Kentucky on Saturday. Bellevue Beach Park is an awesome little spot right on the Ohio River (click here to see our Day 348 post on Bellevue Beach). Saturday you can enjoy the 10th annual Art in the Park from 11am-5pm, The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will be there from 2-4pm performing “Julius Caesar” and that evening you can enjoy the sounds of Blue Stone Ivory (7-10pm, bring a chair or blanket if you’d like).
Lunken Airport hosts its Aviation Days on Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 4pm (both days). Get up close to jets, warbirds, sport airplanes…even sit in some! No fences! Talk to pilots, mechanics, and air traffic controllers! Visit with flying and aircraft mechanic schools! FREE hot dogs, snacks and pop! There’s not a lot of great press available online for this event but you can find some info at the Cincinnati Warbirds.
Take a trip to the Fire Museum on Saturday to enjoy their Fire Fest. Enjoy some smokin’ hot chili at “All Ohio Regional Chili Cookoff“. You can participate in (or simply admire) the “911 Memorial Motorcycle Ride” (biker registration at 10:30, ride begins at noon). The Fire Museum will have a special exhibit on display: “September 11, 2001 – A Timeline” which is on loan from the New York State Museum. The whole family can enjoy pie eating contests, the Cincinnati Reds mascot – Gapper, face painting, firefighter demos and more. The fun starts at 10:30 am and ends at 6pm.
