Here we are with another installment of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we’re featuring Summerfair, an annual fine arts and crafts celebration.
An annual passage into summer, Summerfair is held at Coney Island and includes more than 300 artists and craftspeople from all around the country. This is a juried art show, meaning the artists apply and are hand chosen by a group of judges.
Among the art and artistry you’ll find photography, painting, wood, ceramics, jewelry, fiber art, metal works, and more.
Summerfair will have four different entertainment stages featuring bands, dance and theatre troupes, and acoustic music from some of the best performing artists in the Tri-state. There are also strolling entertainers, including musicians and barbershop quartets.
Kids can enjoy “The Youth Arts Rocks!” area which features hands-on activities for kids including t-shirt design and handpainted flowerpots, a DIY area (see pic) plus jugglers, magicians, puppets and other kid-friendly entertainment.
You can download the Summerfair Program and/or Map here.
Summerfair is at Coney Island on June 1 (2pm-8pm), June 2 (10am-8pm), and June 3 (10am-5pm).
Tickets can be purchased for $10.00 (includes parking); children 12 and under admitted free. Advance one day, or multi-day tickets are available online.
