It’s our Day 139 of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we’re featuring a great (and free) way to spend an evening – listening to some great music at “Concert on the Commons” in Greenhills.
Greenhills is a great community. Recently featured in the June issue of Cincy Magazine, Greenhills was named as the safest community in Hamilton County and second safest in the Tristate area (see article here). With its own little branch of the public library, the Greenhills Creamy Whip, tennis courts, their pool, and a golf course all within walking distance of the “Concert on the Commons”, you can’t say there’s nothing to do in Greenhills!
Concert on the Commons happens every Wednesday evening from late spring to early fall. Last night the main act was “Corky’s Old Time Rock and Roll”. And while they were great, we really went to the concert to hear the act that performed during intermission – Milovan and Anna.
Milovan and Anna are a father and daughter duo. I’ve heard wonderful things about Anna and Milovan and have been trying to get out to hear them play. Milovan plays guitar as does Anna. Anna also sings… and that’s an understatement. Anna can belt out a tune!
Milovan and Anna didn’t have a long time to perform but they did get in a few songs, a few of which were new for them. Anna sang “The House that Built Me”, a song by Amanda Lambert and “Ten” from Jewel. AMAZING. Truly amazing. The kind of amazing where you could see yourself saying “I knew her when…” kind of thing. And Milovan is a talented artist as well – to the point that I thought two people were playing guitar and it was just him.
Anna is actually doing her student teaching right now but she and her dad are still performing in the evenings and weekends. As much as I would hate to lose a great teacher, I can only hope that Anna gets “discovered” some day soon 
.

I am a singer song writer, and have played music for over 40 years. In the United States and other countrys. When i first heard Anna and Milovan, it touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Milovan is a music machine all by himself and Anna is all of my favorite female singers in one person. Anyone that doesn’t get the chance to hear them or buy their CD, is missing out on some of the purest, honest music they will ever hear. I taught myself to play guitar by ear and all i can say is, Anna & Milovan’s music is among the best i have ever heard.

You actually can get to two more Concerts on the Commons. The American Legion Post 530 Concert Band will round out the concert season on Wed., Sept. 15th, at 7 PM.
