It’s Day 279 of “365 Things to do in Cincinnati” and today we’re featuring the Iron Horse Restaurant.
Located in historic Glendale, this restaurant is located in the middle of Village Square. The Village Square was a bustling railroad stop in the late 1800′s. Today it’s a beautiful area, surrounded by gorgeous old homes and quaint shops and eateries.
We had dinner at the Iron Horse last night. We met up with friends to hear Ana and Milovan, a father and daughter duo who were the night’s live entertainment at the Iron Horse. If you haven’t heard them, make plans to do so. They are amazing!
The Iron Horse Restaurant has two levels of dining. We were in the upstairs dining area which features a fireplace, a full bar with seating, a party room and (of course) a spot for live music.
We met up for dinner and drinks and we had some OUTSTANDING food. We started off with a round of appetizers, one of which was this plate full of Tuna Carpaccio…
We followed that up with dinner. I had a blue cheese and bacon burger on a homemade roll. It was AMAZING and I think it gives Terry’s a run for the money. Don’t be afraid to order this burger – mine was awesome. And it comes with a bucket of steak fries that were equally amazing – crispy and brown and just the right amount of salt. On the side they serve Amish ketchup, a very nice dipping addition.
The hubby had Eggplant Parmesan. Other plates at our table included Prime Rib and a wonderful seafood stew (not sure what this one was and I can’t find it on the menu). See pics below…
We had a great experience at the Iron Horse Restaurant and will definitely be going back. The food was outstanding, the entertainment was incredible and the friends were the best part!
The Iron Horse Restaurant is located at 40 Village Square in Glendale
